Vermarje Tea at the Clough House

Vermarje’s EqualiTea is available at the Heritage Goods & Gifts shop in the historic Clough House.

Having lived in a 100-year-old plus historic home in Medford and having chaired the restoration of the Nantucket African meeting house on Nantucket and the Jonathan Belcher House in Randolph, I have become a fan of historic places and their stories. So, when asked if I would be interested in being part of the new reimagined look of the Clough House and having Vermarje’ s EqualiTea at the Hertiage Goods & Gifts, the answer was easy: Yes! The Clough House was built in 1715 by a master bricklayer Ebenezer Clough as a home for himself and his wife. The building is a rare example of a surviving brick row house and is one of the oldest buildings in Boston. The Clough House is owned today by the Old North Foundation and reopened after two years with a reimagined look. It is home to printing office Edes & Gill, which offers colonial printing demonstrations, and the Heritage Goods & Gifts, their retail shop. I am excited to joined other local small business and artisans in offering Vermarje’s EqualiTea to visitors of the Clough House and the Old North Church in the North End.

The EqualiTea line was developed a year ago by me to help advance racial and economic equality. The EqualiTea available in the Heritage Goods & Gifts shop are Morning BREW, Courage, and Harmony:

Morning BREW – One of Vermarje’s popular black tea was selected as one of the EqualiTea for two reasons, 1. the message from the book by author and pastor Kirk B. Jones, “morning B.R.E.W. A Divine Power drink for your soul; Be Still – Receive God’s Love – Embrace Personhood – Welcome the Morning, and 2. My late husband, Paul’s favorite tea

Courage – Another pleasing favorite of many, made of Green Tea and Peppermint

Harmony – A refreshing herbal tea made of Rooibos and a hint of rose petals. Rooibos tea is derived from an evergreen bush grown in South African. Rooibos is a healthy drink with no caffeine enjoyed by children and adults. Harmony was selected as one of the EqualiTea in memory and honor of Nelson Mandela.
